In March 2017, the Corpus Christi Literary Reading Series celebrated its 30th anniversary with a discussion of Texas literature featuring two of our previous guests, Bret Anthony Johnston and Stephen Harrigan, both of whom grew up in Corpus Christi. The wide-ranging conversation was moderated by Don Graham of the University of Texas, and Humanities Texas published a transcript of these remarks in its annual letter.

Author Experiences                                        

This is one of the oldest and, I know now, one of the best reading series in the country, and I was honored to be invited. Then I was delighted to discover that the people who run it and attend the events are genuine and smart readers, kind, big-hearted, and a lot of fun to spend a couple of days with on the Gulf Coast.
